Today I am going to keep this blog short and simple because that’s how I am feeling about the blog today. I don’t believe you always need a long blog to inspire others and to get a point across anyhow. I just wanted to briefly touch on a point about how you are currently making money.

Blogging a few years back was an unknown term to many people who had not been on the computer everyday surfing the web. Many would hear the term on the radio or read it in a newspaper and they would wonder what exactly it was.

I think its safe to say that today the majority of common folk know what it is. Its funny to me that something that's been around for so long can be redesigned in a way to look fresh to the masses of people everywhere. What I mean by that is questioned in this following sentence. How long have people across the world been writing? I would venture a guess to say they have been writing or scratching since the beginning of mankind.

Writing has taken on many different forms as we have evolved to where we are at today. It may have started with sticks pushing sand or dirt around to draw pictures and write symbols and characters. In any case of what ever exactly took place, its a sure bet that somebody was writing all the way back in the beginning.

Now this has not really changed as a basis in today's world. Everybody that communicates has to do so by some sort of method of their choosing. How long have newspapers been around? A very long time. The point of all this is to reflect back on how writing has evolved into many different forms, but is really just the same as it ever was.

The idea for many writers (myself included) is to connect with as many people as I can and create a wonderful and loyal following to my writings. I do believe that if you write well enough to connect in the right way to your viewers, you will become noticed and be propelled up to the top where you can make a decent living by simply providing others with what they are looking for.

I think its safe to say now that emails and email marketing have been around for a long, long time. Before the invention of the Internet (*thank you al gore) became available to all of us regular folks, we would most likely be used to receiving paper snail mail in our mailbox almost every day. Today Ive decided to write about what it is I'm trying to do here online with this website in the first place. Its the start of a new week at the time I am writing this blog entry. I am beginning the week thinking about customers and the trust they apply to whom they are doing business with. Trust is not always a factor in business. It should be, but its not. After some time has passed with your customer base and they have been very happy and satisfied with what you are giving them for what they are spending, you begin to develop trust and confidence in many, many customers. This Trust doesn't just stop there. These customers will be more than happy to tell others that they know about what you are selling and recommend new customers to you.

I really think that some website owners put in more of an honest effort than the others who don't. This dishonest strategy might somehow work for those who want to live their life that way. This idea came to me about a topic to discuss here after hearing a few people including myself give a particular opinion about it. This concept that I kept hearing really started to make me think about how it works.

The concept is this: Bad news is the only type of news that will get any sort of real attention from drones of people, including to a website.

Now, if you take a few minutes to digest this, you almost have to admit that this is the way it really does work. Whenever something really terrible happens at home or abroad, everyone is talking about it around the water coolers. The latest example as of this post is: The the economic crisis and credit crunch that the United States is facing right now. The other big topic is: The Presidential candidate race. These are really big items of discussion, which a whole lot of talking heads on news stations are talking about everyday.

There is also more localized news for your particular area in the world. It could be bad news about your state, your city or the place that you work. I bring all of this up to ask you all: Is the only news worth reading or listening to for most people, bad news? It sure does seem that way if you stick your head in the press machine for a while.

So then the real question is: How does this relate to SEO? Is there a better way to maintain content on your website which will still create a following of many people without necessarily having to go “there” with bad news all the time? Well, a lot of websites rely on content that is negative or shocking all the time. I see nothing wrong with this from time to time as a balanced approach would have it be. I wanted to talk a little bit about the traffic that you all are getting to hit at your website. One question I have heard talked about has to do with where the traffic you get comes from and where you should be attempting to get that traffic. Based on analytics that most anyone who is willing to spend some time researching, most of the traffic you are getting may not be necessarily coming from the search engines the way that it used to be.
